Upcoming Events

🫧 The Spheres weekend public visits (Seattle)

Date: Feb 7 (first and third Saturday of each month)

Price: free

It’s like walking into a jungle that someone accidentally dropped in downtown Seattle aka The Spheres: crazy tall trees, weird tropical plants, hidden pathways, and that instant “wait… this exists?” moment. Kids get curious, adults get a break from the gray Seattle sky, and everyone gets to explore without spending a dime.

Pro move: go early, wander slow, point at every plant that looks like it should have a theme park ride named after it.

🌵 Volunteer Park Conservatory (Seattle)

Date: 2/5 (First Thursday Free)

Free First Thursday at Volunteer Park Conservatory = a warm, green mini vacation that costs exactly $0.

Perfect for rainy days, curious kids, and parents who want to feel productive without trying too hard. Walk in, wander, point at plants, leave happier.

🚨 Bonus: we posted all of the free events this month, check them out!

🏠 Homes By Gus (Seattle)

I have spent years helping Seattle families buy their first home, upgrade for more space, or sell and move on to the next chapter. I know the neighborhoods, the schools, and how to negotiate when it actually matters.

Most parents want three things: Clarity, speed, and fewer surprises. That is how I work. I explain every step, stay extremely available, and make sure you never feel lost in the process.

Find available properties in your neighborhood: https://homesbygus.com/

The goal is simple. Get you into the right home, or out of the current one, with less stress and more confidence.

Free stuff

📚 Edmonds Library (Edmonds)

Come for storytimes, drop-in activities, kids’ crafts, puzzles, games, and enough reading nooks to make naps seem productive. Edmonds Library is perfect when the weather is Seattle-gray and your kids still have energy.

They have tons of free reading events with librarians and we also checked it out here!

Paid

🎨 Glazed and Amazed (Edmonds)

Price: $10+

Walk in, choose a pottery piece, paint it, watch it get fired, and suddenly you have a souvenir that wasn’t bought at a toy store. Glazed and Amazed.

They also do glass fusing, canvas painting, camps, kids nights, and birthday parties: check their events calendar. It’s relaxed, walk in friendly, and perfect for families who want an easy, memorable outing.

Dining

🥯 Seattle Biscuit Company (Ballard)

Seattle Biscuit Co has some of the best biscuits in the city. While most items are adult-sized biscuit sandwiches, the Seattle Biscuit Company Menu includes a "Justa" (a plain scratch-made biscuit) for $7, which can be customized with simple toppings.

The "Lunch Pail" (peanut butter, apple slices, and berry jam) is also a popular pick for kids.

The indoor seating area includes a long bar top where kids can watch the kitchen staff prep and bake biscuits, which can help pass the time during potential waits.

Side note: they had an expensive break in that will cost many thousands of dollars, which is crippling for a small business. Please go visit and support this local biz!
