Upcoming Events and other stuff

Big Truck Day (Redmond)

Date: 8/15

Big Truck Day is rollin’ into Redmond on Aug 15 — kids get to climb inside real tractors, dump trucks, and city rigs. It’s like Disneyland for any kid who’s obsessed with honking things. Dive into a truckload of fun.

  • Get tickets early: There are a VERY limited amount of first and second sessions available for kids, so don’t wait and buy yours!

  • LOUD: There may be loud noises, such as honking horns and sirens, at this event. Prepare accordingly!

  • Buy accordingly: Register each child separately, one parent per two children please. Babies in arms under age 1 are free.

1 Adult & 2 Kids: $20.00 - $24.00

Enchanted Farms (Duvall)

Enchanted Farms is a hidden gem in Duvall where your kids can hand-feed alpacas, goats, and bunnies while actually learning something (crazy, right?). No prob-llama, just alpaca your bags (worst pun ever 🙈)

The staff are funny, the animals are chill, and it feels like a boutique petting zoo crossed with a TED Talk on sustainable farming. It’s run by a family who cares, and you’ll walk out with muddy shoes, happy kids, and probably a fleece product you didn’t plan on buying.

  • Weekday: $18.50

  • Weekend: $21.50

  • Children under 2: Free

Pro-Tips:

  • Must book online: They don’t do walk‑ins and tours often sell out fast!

  • No grapes: Wear comfy shoes, bring sunscreen, and skip grapes/raisins (they’re not animal‑safe)

  • Up close: You get to feed, pet and the staff really encourage interaction with the animals

Dining

Outsider BBQ (Ballard)

Outsider BBQ is Texas-style Barbecue with a Turkish twist. Outsider’s scratch-made sides and pickles are clever, fun, and local through and through. The vibe is laid-back: long wooden tables, fire pits, indoor-outdoor drinking space..

It’s the ideal place to meat up 🍖

Pro-Tips:

  • Go mid-week (Wed–Thu) if you can—lines grow by Friday, and brisket sells out fast.

  • Order a mixed meat platter—staff will weigh it for your group and plate the perfect combo faster than you can wonder what cutting edge brisket looks like.

  • Ask for extra white bread and their pickles—the bread isn’t just a liner; it’s there to soak up the drippings. The pickles and mustard sauce add that bright balance you didn’t know you needed.
