Join Seattle Aquarium staff for free public programming on the Ocean Pavilion’s rooftop and at Pier 58/Madison Street this summer! These drop-in programs will explore art, science, self-reflection and connection.
🚤 Toy Boat Building (South Lake Union)
Date: June 14 @ 12-3p
Price: free!
Let your imagination set sail by assembling your very own toy boat! After selecting your wooden boat hull, learn how to use hand tools to construct the design of your rigging.
Decorate your boat using recycled materials provided by CWB such as material for sails, stamps, stickers, corks, and more. Test out your toy boat in the model boat pond in Lake Union Park after your boat is complete!

🏖️ Golden Gardens Park (Ballard)
A wide, sandy beach with driftwood forts, a playground, wetland trails, and fire pits for an evening s'mores session.
At low tide the flats stretch way out, and through July the Seattle Aquarium stations free Beach Naturalists here on the lowest tides to help kids spot crabs, anemones, and sea stars. Easy parking and restrooms on site.

Seattle’s sweetest trip. Climb aboard the Fremont Avenue at Fishermen’s Terminal for the Ice Cream Cruise. We set out on a 45-minute trip along the Lake Washington Ship Canal to Lake Union, for a narrated tour of this unique and vibrant waterway. For over 20 years the Ice Cream Cruise has been a family favorite for area residents and visitors alike and we hope you will join us.

What’s better than a cold beer on the water? At Gasworks Brewing, kids can watch boats cruise across Lake Union, spot seaplanes taking off, and enjoy a meal while parents relax with a locally brewed beer.
Located right across from Gas Works Park, it's an easy stop before or after a day of playground adventures, kite flying, and exploring the shoreline. The kids menu, outdoor seating and scenic views make it a great spot for the whole family to unwind together.
