🐟 Ballard Music & SeafoodFest (Ballard) — runs all weekend

  • Seattle's 52-year-old neighborhood tradition kicks off Friday with a smaller "pre-funk" night — 5–10pm, limited food trucks, live music and beer garden, no full festival yet. The real deal continues Saturday (11am–10pm, Built to Spill headlines) and Sunday (11am–8pm), with the Kids Deck (free face painting, crafts, live kid performances) running 10am–3pm both days, and Kids Cove's bouncy attractions open until 5pm (paid day pass). seafoodfest.org

🎪 West Seattle Summer Fest (West Seattle) — runs all weekend

  • The Junction's three-day street festival opens Friday, 1–8pm, with two stages of live music, food and shopping vendors, a 21+ beer garden, and an expanded Kids Zone (inflatables, arcade games, balloon twisting — inflatables are a paid day pass). 🌊 Seattle Aquarium — SEA You on the Waterfront (Downtown Waterfront)

  • Free drop-in ocean-themed activities Friday, 11:30am–3:30pm, running at two spots at once — "Rooftop Reflections" on the Ocean Pavilion rooftop and "SEA & Create" at Pier 58. It's a recurring summer program (through Sept 5), so it's an easy add if you're downtown Friday afternoon. seattleaquarium.org

  • A free, docent-led gallery conversation through the Frye's current exhibitions, Friday, 1:00–1:45pm. A good low-key, air-conditioned break from festival crowds if you need one. fryemuseum.org

📚 Family Story Time — SPL Magnolia Branch

  • Drop-in storytime with songs and stories for little ones, Friday, 10:30–11am. No registration needed. spl.org

🎉 Kent Cornucopia Days (Kent) — runs all weekend

  • Kent's biggest annual street fair opens Friday, 10am–8pm, with vendor booths, a food court, a car show, live entertainment, and kids' crafts. It continues Saturday (10am–8pm, plus a 5K at 9am) and wraps Sunday (10am–5pm) with the Grand Parade at 1pm down 4th Ave. This year's theme celebrates the nation's 250th birthday. kcdays.com

  • Free outdoor concert in the Carl S.   • The year-round U-District market runs Saturdays 9am–2pm at University Heights (NE 50th St & University Way NE) with around 50 Washington farm vendors, flowers, and prepared food.
